The schedule

december 4th: the warmest of welcomes

A day to take a deep breath and prepare for a wonderful few days ahead. We’ll be ready to welcome you between noon -12.30pm, placing a fresh juice in your hand the moment you arrive. With time to settle in and meet your companions, we’ll meet in the kitchen at 1pm for your first nutritionally balanced lunch – followed by a period of rest. Wander the gardens, play tennis, read or take a long bath – the choice is yours.

Join us for yoga between 3-4.30pm – a chance to breathe deeply, stretch and relax into a different pace. After yoga, you’ve time to relax before drinks and canapés, served at 6pm in front of an inviting, warm wood burner.

At 6.15pm, your evening meal is served in the dining room. Evening meals are early to allow optimum time for digestion before going to bed and to elongate the fasting period between the evening meals and breakfast the following day.

8pm onwards – Free time for reading or relaxing in one of the lounges, an early bed or evening bath.

december 5th - 6th

Rising gently, your days begins with breakfast and fresh juice. Each plate, snack, juice and tea served to you is carefully created & nutritionally balanced to support your digestion and boost immunity. You will learn throughout the retreat how stress can affect digestion & immunity and how to tweak your diet, incorporating specific nutrients to strengthen the immune system, improve our digestion and manage stress.

Between 9.30-11am, we’ll enjoy yoga with extended savasana for ultimate relaxation. From 11am-12.45pm, your time is your own to do as you please. Perhaps a country walk, a little mooch round Burnham Market for festive shopping or an additional treatment? We can arrange a host of nourishing massages, facials and manicures.

After a nutritionally balanced lunch the afternoons offer a sound bath; a meditation experience with waves of soothing, echoing sounds believed to help reduce stress and anxiety and some festive activities making eco friendly bespoke Christmas crackers for your to take home and a festive culinary class, learning how to make some delicious, nutritious and gut friendly canapes. If you prefer however, you are of course welcome to relax in the lounge with a good book in front of the fire! This is your retreat and it is personalised, just for you!

You have pockets of time to explore the beautiful coastline or enjoy some stress free Christmas shopping in neighbouring Burnham Market.

Early gut friendly drinks and nibbles begin at 6pm before enjoying the nutritionally balanced, immune supporting culinary delights.

We also have an evening talk with an experienced therapist who will discuss stress management strategies and help you understand how these can be implemented into our daily lives.

december 7th - fond farewells

You’ll begin your final day with morning yoga at 8.30am, followed by fresh juice or tea. At 10.30am we’ll meet for one final meal together; a beautiful brunch, and the opportunity to reflect back upon the last few days.

Pamela taylor

Pamela graduated with a Diploma and Degree in Nutritional Therapy in 2009 from The Institute for Optimum Nutrition and Bedfordshire University, respectively. She has since worked as a Nutritional Therapist both in North Norfolk and London. Pamela’s main area of interest is gastrointestinal health, specifically the microbiome and how we can influence the bacteria in our gut to exert health benefits. She is presently completing a Research MSc in Personalised Nutrition at Middlesex University which has allowed her to gain a deeper understanding of the Functional Medicine model, nutrigenetics and further personalisation of nutritional interventions.

Pamela is registered and regulated by the British Association for Applied Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and is a member of The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, the regulatory body that assures standards of practice in all areas of healthcare. She is also a member of The Royal Society of Medicine.

Alongside her nutrition work, Pamela has worked alongside Kieron within the private hospitality sector, working for discerning clientele in the UK and overseas.

Originally from Scotland, Pamela now lives with Kieron in North Norfolk. She loves yoga, travel, reading, design and film and enjoys walking in the beautiful Norfolk countryside.

Kieron Abbott

From an early age, Kieron’s first passion has been cooking. His career has been firmly entrenched in hospitality, seeing him running a boutique guest house and ski lodge in New Zealand to a Villa in St.Tropez, before settling in a Manor House in his beloved North Norfolk – where he spent the last sixteen years managing the catering and events for an ultra high net worth family.

The focus of his cooking is in creating inspired Vegetarian and Vegan dishes that balance the needs of personalised nutrition. With a desire to make ‘low impact food’, using local and seasonal ingredients is key. With an abundance of produce on the doorstep, Kieron enjoys sourcing the best local ingredients.

Whilst Kieron loves to cook and eat fish, a trip to a restaurant in Berlin sparked his passion for plant-based food having been absolutely blown away by their creative and innovative menu, which has inspired him to place plants front and centre in his own menus.

Kieron loves the Norfolk life and enjoys travel, photography and architecture.

North Norfolk is fast becoming a fixture on any savvy travellers itinerary. A vast coastline with miles of sandy beaches, wide open skies, rolling countryside and an array of charming sleepy flint villages make North Norfolk a very unique destination. One of Norfolk’s most beautiful and vibrant villages, Burnham Market, has over 30 small independent shops from book sellers to delis and clothing boutiques. The areas’ thriving art scene is represented in the many galleries. The local area benefits from many superb, award-winning pubs, restaurants and other eateries.

It is easy to lose yourself in the wondrous countryside or the expansive marshes, the big skies ever present. Quiet country lanes, filled with the hum and song of abundant wildlife makes walking and cycling a delight and the many trails make it very accessible. There is truly nowhere else like this beautiful part of the world.
